Review of Undelivered Letters by J Alchem

Review: 3.5/5

It is that time of the year when I start searching for short and sweet books as I desperately try to complete my Goodreads challenge for the year. And that’s when their team approached me for an honest review in exchange for a review copy. I readily accepted it because of its name Undelivered Letters and the tagline ‘What if you never knew about a letter someone had written for you and you after receive it after 20 years?’. This line encaptures anyone who sights this book on a shelf.

The plot of this book is about a postman who forgets to deliver some letters and finds them almost 20 years later. The novel narrates four different family stories making this book an interesting read. It is later these letters that bring a closure to their problems. The author has used simple language yet had succeeded in adding all these complex emotions, giving the characters and plot an authentic feel. One can easily finish this novel in one sitting because of its small size.

Overall, a good read. Recommended.
